The Bears hopes for an undefeated season fell short in Austin, as Bowie defeated Bastrop 34-14. The Bears were plagued by 5 turnovers with 2 being in the end zone. With the score 13-7 for Bowie late in the 2nd quarter and the Bears on the Bowie 16, Josiah Monroe threw an interception ending the threat. Bastrop threatened again at the beginning of the 3rd quarter driving to the Bowie 13 yard line when another turnover occurred. Late in the 3rd period still trailing by 6,the Bears started a drive on the Bowie 35 after a bad punt. They were able to get to the 5 yd line, but failed to convert on a 4th and 3. Brelyn Sorrells and the Bulldogs played an outstanding game to be able to continue to the playoffs and end Bastrop’s quest for an undefeated season. The game ended with a 34-14 win for the Bulldogs.
