Anderson defeated Bastrop 42-35 after a big 2nd quarter. The Bears took a 7-0 lead on a 22 yard pass from Josiah Monroe to Mark Jackson. Jackson then scored again on a 1 yard run to give the Bears a 14-0 lead. Anderson then scored on a Justin Romero 28 run and the quarter ended 14-7. In the 2nd quarter Bastrop extended their lead to 21-7 on a 38 yard pass from Monroe to Auston Shipley. Anderson then scored 3 touchdowns in a row with touchdowns on a 4 yard run by Ty Neal, an 8 yard run by P.J. Henderson, and a 32 yard interception return by Conner Sheehan. The half ended with Anderson ahead 28-21. In the 3rd quarter, Anderson extended their lead to 35-21 on a 1 yard run by Jeff Arnold. Bastrop came back on a 37 yard touchdown pass from Monroe to Bubba Johnson for a 35-28 score. Anderson then scored on 26 yard pass from Romero to Cameron Gravelle. Bastrop finished the scoring with a 5 yard run by Johnson. There was no scoring in the last quarter though Bastrop mounted an 88 yard drive in the last 1:15 minutes to the Anderson 1 yard line but failed to score and Anderson won 42-35. The Bears led in rushing yards 191-169, in passing yards 203-122, and Anderson led in 1st downs 20-18.
