In another unusual game where Bastrop did not punt,led in first downs 23-9, out rushed Westlake 301 yards to 114, ran and passed 71 plays to 32 plays, the Bears still lost to the Westlake Chaparrals 38-9. Westlake quarterback Nick Foles passed for 4 touchdowns and 170 yards. Bastrop had a pass intercepted for a 65 yard touchdown return. Westlake scored twice in the 1st quarter on a pass of 6 yards and the pass interception and led 14-0. Bastrop scored on a 38 yard field goal by Andrew Semer. After a 50 yard pass gain, Westlake then scored on an 8 yd pass to Bron Hager. The half ended with Westlake leading 21-3. In the 3rd quarter, Westlake scored on a 59 yard pass to Brad Ballew. Bastrop scored its only touchdown after an 85 yard drive on a 27 yard run by Dentray Washington. After a Westlake 27 yard field goal, the quarter ended 31-9. Westlake’s final touchdown came on a two play drive of 90 yards with a 26 yard passing score, and the final of 38-9. Dentray Washington of Bastrop led all rushers with 170 yards. O.J. Sanchez had 64 yards. Michael Mills passed for 72 yards, and Zach Criss for 14 yards, for Bastrop. Bastrop lost 3 fumbles.
